David H Malloy was born in Omaha to Maurice and Harriet Malloy. He attended Holy Angels grade school and Prep High School. He obtained his Journeyman and Master Plumbers licenses and went on to successfully run the family plumbing business. Whatever parish he was in, Holy Angels, St Richards or St Leo’s, he always made sure that their plumbing needs were taken care of.
He married Connie in 1957 and they had 3 children. Together they attended all their children’s sporting events and activities. When Connie became ill with cancer, he diligently cared for her during this time. After Connie passed, he continued to attend all the grandchildren' s activities and cheered them on.
He had a love for fishing and golfing with family and friends, both of which he passed onto to his children. He made many wonderful friendships through these hobbies. David took many fishing trips to Lake McConaughy, South Dakota and other places with his sons and friends. And sometimes Connie and his daughter Mary got to go along! He made sure that there were many wonderful family vacations to Lake McConaughy with the Dehner family. His love for golfing started at an early age when he caddied at the Omaha Country Club, especially for Msgr. Flanagan. He enjoyed golfing in Tiger Tom’s golfing league at Benson Golf Course and even went on a few golfing destination trips. David enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and participated in many Friday night poker games after work.
In his later years, he enjoyed family gatherings and always made sure he sampled all of the food and drinks! He will be missed dearly.
Preceded in death by parents Maurice and Harriet Malloy, wife Connie and sister Margaret McLain.
Left to cherish his beautiful memory are his children: Steve (Brenda) Malloy, David (Karen) Malloy and Mary (Mark) Johnson; Grandchildren: Emily, Katie (Dominic), David (Jenn), Micaela (Matt), Michael, Gregory (Taylor), Ashley (Ben), Joshua and Jason; 6 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
