David F. Fibich

David F. Fibich of Gretna, Nebraska passed away on October 2, 2026 at the age of 66.

David was born on October 24, 1959 to the late Frank and Marjorie Fibich. He became the oldest of seven children. David married Kathy in 1984 and raised two daughters. He was a hard working employee of a manufacturing company for most of his career. David enjoyed fishing, Husker sports and working with his hands, including the construction of the home he raised his family in. 

David will be remembered most for his kind, gentle nature and devotion to family. A life-long man of faith, he led by example and helped to inspire the faith of his children and grandchildren. 

David is survived by his wife Kathy, daughters Patty (Dustin) Van Cleve and Susie (Chris) Baustian, grandchildren Chloe, Luke, Brynn, Colton and Hallie, siblings Chris (Scott) Christensen, Don (Tammy) Fibich, Frank (Michelle) Fibich, Bob (Kim) Fibich, Barb (Dan) Roth and Mary (Chris) Brown as well as many extended family and friends that will miss him.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his daughter Elizabeth. 

Visitation: Thursday, October 8, from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at Roeder Mortuary, 11710 Standing Stone Drive, Gretna. 

Funeral Service: Friday, October 9 at 1:00p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 11204 S 204th Street, Gretna. 

Burial immediately following at Evergreen Cemetery, 2300 S 78th Street Omaha.

In lieu of flowers, David’s family encourages donations to meaningful charities advancing the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and Lewy Body Dementia.
