David F. Cromling

David F. Cromling, 69, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord on July 1, 2026, at Methodist Hospital following a sudden diagnosis with pancreatic cancer.

Born on January 5, 1957, David was the son of the late Charles and Helen (Richards) Cromling. He lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his faith, and a career he truly loved.

David was a faithful member of Florence Christian Church. He had a lifelong passion for aviation and was fortunate to build a career around it, working for Eastern Airlines, United Airlines, and Northwest Airlines before retiring. His love of airplanes remained one of his greatest joys throughout his life.

Above all, David cherished his family. He is survived by his son, Zach (Lindsey) Cromling; his beloved granddaughters, Caroline and Carter Cromling; his sister, Lisa Emory; his brother-in-law, Gary Nelson; his brother, Charles "Chick" Cromling (Denise Forster); his nieces and nephews, Kellie Johnston, Erin (Justin) Dye, Andrea (Guillame Favre) Nelson, Grant Nelson, Brent Nelson, and Christopher Cromling; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen (Richards) Cromling; his son, David F. Cromling Jr. ("DJ"); and his sister, Charlene Nelson.

A funeral service celebrating David's life will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Florence Christian Church. Friends and family are welcome to attend. A private burial will be held at a later time in a place special to him.

David will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his love of aviation, and the deep love he had for his family. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
