Darlene Mae Shavlik, age 89, was born August 10, 1930 to Frank Joseph Anton and Katherine Shavlik in Gregory, South Dakota and departed life in Omaha, Nebraska on August 19, 2019. She married Harry Greer on August 24, 1953 in Omaha. The couple had a daughter and a son whom they raised in Omaha.

Darlene grew up on a farm outside of Gregory. As a child, Darlene rode her horse to a one-room school. Her parents moved from the farm to Dallas, South Dakota where she graduated from high school in 1948. Darlene moved to Omaha in 1951 and worked in the office at Proctor & Gamble. She met her husband on a blind date. Darlene worked multiple office positions, retired in 1996 from First Data Corp. Darlene and Bob spent their retirement years traveling which included national parks and visiting relatives in Minnesota and South Dakota. Darlene was an active member of the St  Mary's Guild at All Saints Episcopal Church.

Darlene is survived by: daughter, Cathy Walters of Omaha; son, Tim Greer of Omaha; sister, Evelyn Greene of Leesburg, FL; and in-laws: David Greer of Loveland, CO and Mary Greer of Clarinda, IA; many nephews and nieces.

Darlene is preceded in death by: husband, Harry Greer; parents, Frank Joseph Anton and Katherine Shavlik; brothers, Steve Shavlik, Archie Shavlik, and Joey Shavlik; in-laws, Velma Shavlik, Agnes Shavlik, Jerry Greer and Nancy Greer; nephew, Wally Shavlik.

Private internment. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church or to the family.
