July 4, 1935 - January 10, 2022 Lowell Dankof died on January 10, 2022 at the age of 86 yr, 6 mo and 6 days. He was born July 4, 1935 on his G'pa Miller's farm in Atchison County, MO. He attended high school in Hamburg, LA and was a 1957 graduate of Iowa State University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He earned his Master of Engineering Science Degree from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. He served in the U. S. Army and Reserves for 8 years until discharged in 1965. Dan worked for Western Electric for 33 years from 1957 to year's end 1989, and retired as a Senior Engineer. He was a registered Professional Engineer in Nebraska. Dan was an avid sports fan and grew up participating in all sports in high school. Baseball was his favorite at College and Semi-Pro level. Golf became a passion in later years. He was also a skilled deer hunter bow & arrow) and fisherman with many bragging rights trophies. After college, Dan met the love of his life, Dottie , in Omaha, while Dottie was his dancing instructor. They were married March 14, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Omaha. While raising a close family of three children, they enjoyed ballroom dancing and met many dear friends through that activity. They were active members of the German American Society for over 40 years and also active members of Lutheran Church of The Master for many years. Dan participated in his beloved Stephen Ministry for 16 years as a caregiver and leader with a passion for helping those in need. He was preceded in death by his parents Cliff and Wilma Dankof, an infant sister, Joyce, and a sister Lois Sebek of Hamburg, IA. He is survived by his loving and cherished wife of almost 63 years, Dottie, children Lisa Cornett of Papillion, NE, Angela Bellus of Reading, England UK, Karl Dankof of Elkhorn, NE, brothers Duane Dankof of Nebraska City, NE, and Dale Dankof of Shenandoah, IA, six grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and many friends. He will be missed. Memorial Service 11:00 AM Saturday , with visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, at Lutheran Church of the Master, 2617 S 114th St. Omaha, NE. The service will be livestreamed https://youtu.be/40htvbotmrc  Future Interment Omaha National Cemetery. Memorials to Lutheran Church of the Master Building Fund or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
