Daniel Mark Ward

Daniel Mark Ward Sr. (Dan), 70, husband of Gloria L. Ward, was called home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2024 with his family by his side in Mobile, Alabama. He was a resident of both Mobile, Alabama and Omaha, Nebraska.

Dan was born in Chicago, IL on April 18th, 1953 and moved to Omaha at the age of three. He graduated from Ralston High School in 1971, and married the love of his life Gloria L. Edwards on September 11th, 1976. At a young age, Dan gravitated towards electronics, sparked by his Aunt Betty giving him the book The First Book of Electricity at the age of 11. In high school he began working at Radiosmith as a T.V. and antenna technician. This passion would lead him to start American Electronics and Mediguard USA. Dan and Gloria owned and ran these businesses for nearly 40 years and employed many dear friends and family.

In Omaha, Dan served with CBMC (Christian Business Men’s Connection), Good News Jail and Prison Ministry, and was on multiple other boards and committees. He was always deeply involved in various church ministries, serving on church boards, teaching Sunday School or leading Bible studies and prayer meetings, all while radiating the love of Jesus to all.

In 2019, Dan and Gloria started living part of the year in Mobile, Alabama to be closer to children and grandchildren. Life Church of Mobile became their home church. Dan served on the board of CBMC of Mobile and the board of Promises of Life Prison Ministries. He spent much of his week ministering to Christian Businessmen and also ministering with the jail ministry.

Dan loved to travel the world with Gloria - visiting Europe, Latin America, and Israel many times. On many of these trips they ministered to missionaries, churches and business leaders. They made lasting relationships wherever they went.

Dan was one of the most encouraging people you had ever met, and it was tough to have a bad day around him. He was a man who lived a life of love and brought a message of hope to people around him. He was a faithful and loyal friend to so many and would often stop to pray with someone as if nothing else in the world mattered. In his private life, Dan would seek his Heavenly Father, praying for the people around him; his devotion to the Lord was unwavering.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gloria L. Ward of Mobile; his children, Christina M. (Thomas) Blackmon; Daniel Mark (Callie) Ward, Jr.; Joseph J. Ward; Catherine A. (Jeremy) Copple; his grandchildren, Annabelle and Abigail Blackmon; Michaela Ward; Luchas and Lillianah Copple; his sisters, Mary Ward; Frances (Bruce) Buck; Deborah (Joe) Jordan; Teresa (Michael) Wheeler; Karen (Pat) Lawrence; Julie (Rick) Waymire; his brothers, Jim (Nancy) Lundy; Tom (Mary) Ward; Mike (Cathy) Ward; Pat (Cathy) Ward; and Bill (Karen) Ward. He is also survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John D. Ward, Sr.; his step-mother, Beverly J. Ward; his mother, Frances A. Lundy; his step-father, Bill Lundy; and his brother John D. Ward Jr.
