Daniel J. Negrete

Dan was a physical embodiment of the importance of Family. He lived for his Family and loved them deeply more than words could ever quantify. No achievement accomplished in life was more important to him than being Husband to the love of his life Kathy, a father to his 6 children and being a grand father to his 10 grandchildren. His heart was always whole and full of love when everyone gathered at their house. The chaos of his children chasing around his grandchildren was sweet bliss to him. His hobbies included his daily attendance of his “Coffee Klatch Club”, fishing and maintaining his equipment, cleaning and sharpening his knife collection and studies of Sasquatch & the paranormal.

A common phrase he would always relay to his family and friends in conversation was “As long as I have my family, life is plenty good enough for me.” Dan never needed much. Just love and his family.

Preceded by: parents George and Linda; brother Phillip; and mother-in-law Karen Dehner.   

Survived by: loving wife Kathy of 37 years; daughter Jessica (Jesse) Bruno and grandchildren: Jaylynn, Jaycee and Jaxson Bruno; son Daniel (Kylie) Negrete and grandchild Emmalynn Negrete; daughter Michelle (Derek) Hamilton and grandchildren: Dylan & Marissa Hamilton; son Joseph Negrete; daughter Kaitlyn (Kolbey) Bruno and grandchildren: Julianna, Hayden and Anastasia Bruno; daughter Megan Negrete and grandson Malcolm James; father-in-law Thomas Dehner; siblings: David (Tonya) Negrete; Lisa Negrete; Toni (Rick) Nice; JoAnne Negrete; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other loving family and friends. 

Memorial Service 11 AM  Friday (12/15/2023)  at Roeder Mortuary 108^th Chapel (2727 N. 108th Street Omaha, Nebraska 68164) with visitation 1 hour prior 10 AM. Memorials to the family for later designation.
