Dale D. Hoffart

Ashland - Dale Dudley Hoffart was born June 29, 1949, in Osmond, Nebraska, to Wilbert and Vesta Hoffart. The Lord called him home on July 2, 2026 after a long battle with cancer.

Dale lived most of his life in Lincoln, Nebraska. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1967 and married Bonnie in 1969. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in December 1969, proudly serving his country in Vietnam and later at Fort Lewis, Washington.

After his service, Dale attended Southeast Community College, earning an associates degree in architectural technology. That led him to a 40+ year career with engineering firms in Lincoln and Omaha as an electrical designer, and licensed electrical contractor.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Dale enjoyed sharing his talents with many. He loved traveling, golfing, skiing, gardening, puzzles, stamp collecting, canning, baking, amateur radio, and building award-winning Christmas light displays. After their children graduated, Dale and Bonnie moved to the country, where he built his dream home on three acres overlooking Ashland. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and he always made an effort to attend their many extracurricular activities.

He was a lifetime member of the VFW, DAV, and the American Legion. After retiring, he remained active with veterans’ groups, often with his service dog, Shelbie, by his side. Dale was also an active member of the Ashland Rotary Club, where he regularly volunteered for Special Olympics and for local festivals and parades. A devoted Christian, he served as an Elder at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his children, Paige Hoffart and Bridget (Justin) Frazer; and his grandchildren, William, Harrison, Elizabeth, and Charlotte; as well as his sisters Wanda Lawson and Darlene (Paul) Mundt and in-laws Pam and Randall House. He was proceeded in Death by his brother Wilbur Hoffart Jr.
