Springfield - Christine Noble (formerly Kreifels and Stoddard) passed away July 3rd at her home in Springfield, Nebraska. Christie was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, teacher, and friend to everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Delores Kreifels. She is survived by her husband, Bob Noble, three children Addison (Matt) Stoddard, Bryce (Raissa) Stoddard, and Morgan (Scott) Saunders, as well as step-daughter Amber (Jared) Lashley of Omaha. Christie was a beloved grandma to three grandchildren: Millie, William “Big Guy”, and Maeve and step-grandma to Alex, Keagan, Callait. She is also survived by all of her siblings: Mick (Kathy) Kreifels, Marla (Dave) Kildow, Jeff (Theresa) Kreifels, Rodney (Pennie) Kreifels, and Angie (Kevin) Carlson.
Christie Kreifels was born on April 21st, 1955, in Springfield, Nebraska, the third of six children born to Allen and Delores (Lorenz) Kreifels. She was raised in the Catholic faith and they grew up in a close-knit family working together in their family business, Kreifels’ Hatchery.
After graduation from Platteview High School in 1973, she received her college education through the Kearney State College and received her elementary education degree. She returned to Springfield-Platteview School District after graduation in 1977 and taught for 34 years before retiring in 2011. The majority of her teaching years were spent teaching 4th grade at Springfield Elementary. Many students remember her for celebrating Pioneer Day with her class each year which included dressing as pioneers and eating cow tongue that she graciously cooked. Christie continued subbing in the district after retirement which she loved dearly. She left a positive impact on so many lives in her teaching years.
Christie married Mark Stoddard in September 1985 and their union was blessed with three children - Addison (1987), Bryce (1989), and Morgan (1991). She later married Bob Noble of Beaver Lake in 2017 and they made their home on a farm south of Springfield. They have enjoyed traveling, playing cards, gardening, restoring their farmhouse, garage sales, riding motorcycle, raising chickens, and camping.
Christie was deeply rooted in family. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, children, and grandchildren. She was a proud and supportive mother, a doting grandmother, and a loyal friend to many across the community. She never turned down an opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren! Known for her giving heart, many stay warm under a quilt hand-crafted by Christie. Christie had an eye for matching fabrics and making beautiful quilts. Many have flowers in their gardens separated from the many plants in her yard. Christie loved to catch up with friends on her patio with a glass of iced tea, providing a listening ear and always had words of encouragement for others.
Cheers to Christie, with a Busch Light over ice, to a life well-lived! We love you!
