Charles Ray Cannon was born to the late Charles and Porrine Cannon, on August 18, 1951 in Noxapater, Mississippi. He was the oldest of eleven Children. Ray relocated to Omaha, Nebraska with his parents.  He graduated from Tech High School in 1969. It was in 1970, that he met and later married, the love of his life, Rose, together until his passing. In 1975, he started his thirty-year career as a laborer at the Burlington Northern- Santa Fe Railroad Company. While working, Ray would go on to receive several rewards and recognition for being a valued employee. In his spare time, Ray enjoyed building and racing cars.  Ray also repaired and donated bikes to the Boy Scouts of America. On January 17, 2017 Ray was called home to be with his parents and his sister Pauline. He is survived by his wife Rose, three children; Colleen, Charles Ray and Christeena ; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Brothers; James of Sioux City, Iowa, Roosevelt of Aurora, Colorado, Tony, Joseph, Thomas, Robert, and Maurice, sisters; Mary, Karen, all of Omaha, NE. a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends. Ray had a special bond with his Sister-in-Law Debi, and her children: Sheri, Jamie, Kimberly, Jaqueline and James. Ray will forever be remembered for the loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and the dear friend that he was to all. He always went the extra mile to do anything he could for his family and will be missed.
