Charles J. Brandt

Chuck Brandt of Elkhorn, Nebraska, 79, passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer, in his home on September 10, 2026.

He was born on January 21, 1947 in Crete Nebraska to Lester Brandt and Dorothy Brandt. He was one of six boys. He grew up working on the farm and attended Sprague/Martel High School and played football, basketball, baseball, and ran track. He graduated with an associates degree from Milford Technical School in drafting.

He married his wife, Lois Schulte, on June 5, 1970, in Syracuse, Nebraska. To that union was born Jason and Stacey. Chuck enjoyed home renovation and helping neighbors. He was quite the handyman and a true servant. Chuck was a draftsman and estimator for building construction.

One of Chuck’s biggest passions was throwing horseshoe and enjoyed this hobby with his son and even planned family vacations around his horseshoe tournaments. He and Lois also spent a lot of time golfing and fishing, taking the grandkids along, as well. He loved watching sports and was a big Husker and Chiefs fan.

A fun family tradition was making pizza, which started with Chuck inventing a homemade recipe called “N Street Pizza”. He was a devoted grandpa and rarely missed an activity of his grandchildren. He was passionate and supportive in everything he did and loved.

Preceded in death by son Jason, parents, brothers Allen, Daniel, Bernard, and Frederick.

Survived by wife Lois, daughter Stacey (Ben) Humann, grandchildren Braden (Ryah), Faith, Ellie, and Makenna Humann, Chloe and Sadie Brandt, daughter-in-law Gwen Brandt, brother Emery Brandt.

He will be dearly missed.
