Charles Edward Whitney Age 58 of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on May 23, 2020.

He was born June 26, 1961 in Omaha, Nebraska to Theodore and Rosa Lee Whitney.

Charles graduated from Sacred Heart grade school in 1980. During the

summer, he participated in the Omaha Nebraska Academy Camp

where he enjoyed adventuring into the great outdoors. He was fascinated with

catching fish and turtles.

He went on to Dominican High School in 1981. Charles loved sports

and participated in wrestling, football and basketball. He won

several trophies and medals for wrestling.  Charles exhibited so much

talent in this area and surely could have been a professional athlete

and gone on to be one of the greatest. He worked hard to keep himself physically fit. He enjoyed karate and was an avid fan of the University of Nebraska football team. Charles became a trained professional chef, worked as a tradesman and was awarded Employee of the Month on several occasions. Ruby Tuesday Restaurant where he worked for 14 years. Although Charles faced some challenges on earth, we are confident that he will be a shining star in heaven.

Charles is preceded in death by his father; Theodore Whitney and

grandparents; John and Gladys Freeman.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother; Rose Lee Whitney, brothers; Glen Whitney, Commodore Whitney and Theodore Whitney, sisters; Kassandra Orji and Michellie Hines, nieces and nephews; Lionel & Ardelia Orji, Edward Oji and Commodore & Sierra Perkins

uncle: Enfrice Freeman and close friends; Alvin Clark and Eddie Brown

Visitation: 9:00 to 10:00 AM Friday, May 29, 2020, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2207 Wirt St.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday, May 29, 2020 at church.

Interment: Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to a charity of your choice.
