Charlene was born to George and Ethel Scott on February 2, 1938 in the Broken Bow, NE hospital. She attended school in the Pleasant Hill country school and in the 4th grade finished elementary and high school at the Arnold public school. She graduated in 1956. Charlene was the youngest of 12 children . She worked at the Jack and Jill grocery store from 8th grade through her senior year of high school. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior in high school. She attended North Platte School of Commerce. After taking a Civil Service Exam, she began working for the Farmers Home Administration in North Platte, NE and was later transferred to Albion, NE as County Office Clerk. Dating on a regular basis, they became engaged and were married on September 18, 1960 at the Baptist church in Arnold. They moved to St. Paul, NE and it was there that three sons completed our family. Chuck's job took them to St. Paul, Neilgh, Brunswick, Alliance, Norfolk and Papillion. Charlene had an interest in music at a young age. She began playing for church when she was in 8th grade and wherever they lived she became the church pianist. Over the years she played for many weddings, funerals, accompanied soloists and wanted to honor the Lord in this ministry. She, her husband and sons loved sports, attending many. NU volleyball and football were tops and Charlene was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Charlene along with Chuck served the Lord working as youth sponsors in several churches.
