Catherine L. Hankins was born on March 15, 1952, to union of Robert Sr. and Emma Hankins, in Malvern, Arkansas. She was the oldest of five children.

Catherine graduated from Omaha North High School and furthered her education at the University of Nebraska Omaha. After graduation, Catherine worked in the physical therapy department at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  Catherine worked and retired from the Omaha Public School system.

Catherine was a praying woman with a beautiful heart and kind spirit. She always had a word of encouragement to make you smile or laugh.  She loved decorating and cooking for the holidays.  and shopping at Hobby Lobby and spent hours reminiscing with her family in Arkansas. She was a Kansas City Chiefs and Arkansas Razorbacks fan and loved cheering them on.

Catherine exemplified the true meaning of motherhood to her five children whom she loved dearly and enjoyed making special memories with each of them.  She especially loved her grandchildren and the visits they had every weekend.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Shrylon, Rosetta and Rubbie; brother Robert Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Eddie Hankins (Heather), Karen Hankins, Jerryce Mattox (Bryan), Jacqueline Hankins-Berry (Ron) Jerry Hankins; grandchildren Aniya Hankins, Jalen Hankins, Jada Hankins, Araya Williams, El Paso, Texas, Mitchell Carr, Mayalyn Thompson; great grandchildren, Alex Hardiman, Alea Hardiman and Bryson Williams, El Paso, Texas, all of Omaha, Nebraska; Uncle Rev. John Hill (Bobby Jean), Aunt Clara Mae Freeman, Malvern, Arkansas and Aunt Mary Hill, Omaha, Nebraska; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation / Wake Service: 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday October, 25, 2023 at Roeder Mortuary - Ames Chapel. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM on Thursday October 26, 2023 at Tri-Community United Methodist Church, 6001 Fontenelle Blvd, Omaha, NE 68111. Burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Services will be livestreamed below.
