Carolyn Joy Freeney, a woman of grace and resilience, transitioned from this world on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on October 31, 1950, in Andalusia, Alabama, she was the beloved daughter of Bernie Dean Freeney and Vera Tyler. Carolyn spent her formative years in Alabama, graduating in 1969 from Red Level High School in Red Level. In 1996, she moved to Bellevue, Nebraska, alongside her younger brother, starting a purposeful career in the Bellevue School System as a Para, a position she held with dedication until her retirement in 2016.
Preceded in death by her parents, her older brother John Freeney, and her older sister Annie Lawrence (Sam), Carolyn's legacy is lovingly carried on by her family. She is survived by her four cherished children: Robert Clark Jr. (Chasity), Reginal Clark, Tuanita Moore (Boris), and Chrishonda Harris. Her spirit also lives on in her four siblings: Dorothy Curry, Gloria Curry, Lillie Denson, and Floyd Freeney, and in her eight treasured grandchildren: Kasus Clark, Chae Clark, NeKaya Payne, Dayla Clark, Damerius Harris, Darius Harris, Christopher Moore, and William Moore. Carolyn's love extends to her two great-grandchildren, Ny'Ari and Ny'Mira Figures, who will carry her memory forward.
Carolyn's life was defined by her unwavering generosity, compassion, and the profound impact she had on those around her. Her memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate to know her, inspiring love and kindness in the generations that follow.
