Carol Jean Henn

Omaha - Carol was born in Meadow Grove, Nebraska, to James and Dorothy Podliska. She graduated from Madison High School in 1955. She earned a teaching certificate and taught at Sherman Elementary School in Omaha.

On Aug. 15, 1960, she married Ron Henn, and they shared 57 years together. They raised four children: Scott, Jay, Jodi and Chad. The family lived in Oklahoma and Iowa before settling in Omaha.

Carol was an active volunteer with Madonna School, St. James Catholic School and St. Elizabeth Ann Catholic Church. She was member of the Welcome Wagon in the Maple Village neighborhood. For nearly 20 years, she worked as the development director for Madonna School.

Carol loved to cook, shop, socialize, and travel. Cooking was Carol’s love language and there was always more than enough. She was known to be fashionably late and always in fashion. She made lifelong friends as a member of Beta Sigma Phi – a sorority sisterhood of “positive, loving women who laugh easily, share well with others, and aren't afraid to eat dessert.” She was also the member of eight bridge clubs.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ron, and her son, Jay. She is survived by her children: Scott (Rose) Henn, Jodi (Steve) Macaitis, and Chad Henn; grandchildren: Melissa (Paul) Staley, Brett (Shelly) Henn, Katie Henn, Nicole (Darrell) Silver, AJ (Jillyn) Macaitis andAndrew Macaitis; great grandchildren: Chloe Birge and Grace Staley, Taiden Red, Courtney, Lucas, and Tyler Henn, Brooks and Adeline Silver, and Miles Macaitis; brother, Udell (Jeri) Podliska; many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
