Brian E. Koeneke

Gretna - Brian Eugene Koeneke 43 of Gretna, passed away Thursday May 23rd. 

Brian graduated from Lincoln Northeast and earned his B.S in Management at Bellevue University. In addition to being a devoted husband, father and grandfather he worked for Walgreens for nearly 20 years in a variety of roles from Photo Specialist to EXA/ASM, Store Manager and most recently Area Administrator.

Brian is survived by his parents Robert and Theresa Koeneke, Wife Tracy (O'Neel) Koeneke; Daughter Katlynn and Nick Randeris; Granddaughter Bailey; Brother Andrew and Joa Koeneke, Sister Anna Koeneke; Sister and Brother In-Law Kelly & Josh Marx; 

Devoted Uncle to Alana, Jake and Skyler Marx; Ida & Rex Koeneke

Grandfather Charles Huxoll; Cousins, Aunts and Uncles. 

Preceded in death by Parents in-law Dave & Linda O'Neel; Uncle Mark Huxoll; Grandmother Beverly Huxoll, and Grandparents Alan & Irma Koeneke. 

Our dear sweet Brian lived and breathed for his family, friends, coworkers and the game of basketball. From the endless games of basketball in the driveway to working on his handles in the house, his love for the game goes unmatched. He was always quick on his feet and thinking of others effortlessly passing the ball to elevate the team no matter the scenario. 

He brought a humble, selfless and goofy personality that truly touched many lives. One could see the pride he carried for his family beam ear to ear. He had an uncanny ability to get people to open up and used this listening power to comfort and uplift. He carried those he encountered on his shoulders supporting however he could. We will miss his unconventional thinking, silly antics to make us smile and his mastery of spreadsheets/programming.
