Omaha - Brian J. Meyer was born in Omaha, NE on June 17, 1979, and died August 25, 2026. He went to school at St. James/Seton School, Cathedral High School, North High School and Metro Tech Community College. Growing up, Brian enjoyed camping vacations and 2 trips to Medjugorje, Yugoslavia with his family. He especially enjoyed going to the Bureau of Printing and Engraving when the family went to Washington, D.C.
He worked in cabinet making for a while, then became an electrician, then became a Service Technician for Engineered Controls, Inc where he worked for 20 years. He was a hard worker, self-learner and problem-solver. After Janelle moved to Minnesota, he would occasionally meet her in Sioux Falls to spend time together. He enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, tinkering with cars and an occasional woodworking project. He was willing to share his talents by helping others. He enjoyed the companionship of his dogs, first Scooby & Scrappy, then Diesel & Ruby, and at the end Maggie, Pistol & Henry.
Brian is survived by his daughter, Janelle, wife Kelly Meyer, parents Jim & Elaine, sister, Valerie (Aric), nephews, Ajax, Alex, Axton, niece, Ada, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and 3 uncles.
Visitation Wednesday 5:00 - 7:00 PM with Vigil Service 7:00 PM at Mortuary. Funeral Service 10:00 AM Thursday (9/3/2026) at St. James Catholic Church 9025 Larimore Avenue Omaha. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
