Beverly Kindler, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and gracious friend, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, at the age of 93.
Born on August 3, 1931, Beverly grew up on a farm near Malcom, Nebraska, before moving with her family to Lincoln during her junior high years. She graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 1949.
Primarily a homemaker, Beverly also worked as a secretary and was a proud representative for both Avon and Mary Kay. She married Dean Kindler in 1964, and in Lincoln they shared over two decades rooted in family, Nebraska Husker football, and community life. Then in 1986, they moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma, where Dean accepted a position at Oklahoma State University. There, Beverly became active in University Women and generously volunteered her time at the local hospital and cheered for the OSU Cowboys.
During their years in Stillwater, Beverly and Dean discovered a shared love for ballroom dancing, becoming accomplished dancers and enjoying many evenings on the dance floor. Beverly was known for her elegant sense of style, her remarkable patience, and her unwavering devotion to her loved ones.
In 2010, Beverly and Dean returned to Nebraska, making Maple Ridge Retirement Community their new home. There, Beverly found joy in forming new friendships and participating in a variety of social events and activities, including playing bingo and poker, and attending concerts. She also returned to her love of painting—an artistic talent she had excelled at in high school.
She was especially proud of her family and took great interest in the accomplishments of her grandson, Peyton Kindler, whose life brought her immense joy.
Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dean Kindler. She is survived by her son, John Knape and his wife Gay DeWester; her stepson, Paul Kindler and his wife Emma; and her cherished grandson, Peyton Kindler.
Beverly’s presence was a quiet but steady light in the lives of those around her. She will be remembered for her warmth, her dignity, and her deep love for her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 24th at 10:30 a.m. at Maple Ridge Retirement Community, 6725 N 167th Circle, Omaha, NE.
