Forest Lawn Cemetery, Omaha, NE Beulah June Stirling was born in Alexandria, SD on July 3rd 1929 to Harold and LeNora Stirling. She had one sibling, Georgie, who she adored. They lived together on their family's farm in Parkston, SD. Her family relocated briefly to Washington State where her farther built war ships during World War II. She missed her hometown and returned home to live with her grandparents until her parents could come back to the farm. She caught the eye of her best friend's brother, Dave Shields, who found every excuse to visit her daddy's farm to help with chores. According to Beulah they married on November 13th 1950 in Milltown SD because they got tired of making up excuses to visit each other. During the early years of their marriage Beulah taught in a one room school house but her true passion was to raise a family and take care of her home. Dave and Beulah moved to Omaha, NE where they raised four daughters and three sons who blessed them with fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren As busy as she was raising family she also found time for other interests, bowling, ceramics, and various crafts. The baby blankets, ceramic baby plates and piggy banks she made for her grandchildren will be a lasting memory. Dave and Beulah took care of each other until Dave's death on December 13, 2000 shortly after their fiftieth wedding anniversary.
