Betty J. Sturgeon

8/14/1923 - 1/11/2017

Age 93, passed away on January 11, 2017 in Gretna, NE. She was born in Omaha, NE on August 14, 1923 to James and Gladys Hough.  Betty was the first Nurse practitioner for the State of Nebraska.  She was the Assistant Director for the Visiting Nurses Association and Professor of Nursing at Creighton University for over 30 years. She is preceded in death by husband, Willis; brother, Jim Hough. Betty is survived by sons: Thomas Sturgeon , Michael Sturgeon ; grandchildren, Macaela , Ryan, Brittney, Sarah, Olivia, Katie and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Taft, Taylor, Kaleb, Reagan, Piper and Presley.

from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Roeder Mortuary Gretna Chapel, with VIGIL SERVICE at 6:30pm.  MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Saturday, Jan. 14th at 10:00 am, St. Patrick Catholic Church, 508 Angus Street, Gretna, NE. Interment at the Glenwood  Cemetery in Glenwood, IA
