Beth Beermann was born to Ralph and Mabel Neild on November 23, 1953, in Joliet, IL. She was the second of four children and grew up in Peotone, IL. During elementary school, her family moved to Lincoln, NE where Beth eventually graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in 1969. She went on to study Education at the University of Nebraska Lincoln and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. After graduation Beth started teaching both middle and high school and found joy in helping young people grow and succeed. Later, Beth continued to help others by becoming a Director of the Employee Assistance Program at Methodist Hospital, where she spent most of her career.
In January of 1979 Beth met the love of her life, Bob Beermann. They were married on March 29th, 1980 and started their life together with a move to South Bend, Indiana. On January 12th, 1983, Bob and Beth welcome their first daughter Jane to the world. They then moved back to Omaha in 1985 and shortly after on September 25th, 1986, they welcomed their second daughter Katy to complete their family. Beth loved being a mom and found immense joy in raising her two girls.
Beth brought beauty to the world through her gardening, love of music, and compassion for children. Through the spring and summer months she would spend hours in her garden planting, tending, and being one with nature. Her home was full of life with Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, and the Beatles playing on full blast while she danced around the living room with her girls. Beth wanted her garden to be a magical place and you could often find the neighborhood kids playing and picking flowers while hunting for magical fairies and listening to stories while laughing and dreaming of faraway places.
In her later life Beth spent quality time with Bob through close connections with their friends in the program. She cherished her grandchildren and always wanted to stay silly and never grow up. Beth was the light of our lives and touched everyone she met with her kind and compassionate heart. She has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled. We will miss her dearly and cherish her memory through the love of her friends and family. With every flower, fairy, mermaid, and owl we will think of her fondly and carry her in our hearts until we meet again.
The family will be receiving family and friends from 1-2 PM and a Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday (3/18/2023) at Roeder Mortuary 11710 Standing Stone Dr. Gretna, NE.
Beth loved animals and being in nature. We ask that in lieu of flowers you donate in her memory to the Arbor Day Foundation or the Nebraska Humane Society.
