Journey Began ~ September 7, 1948 and Journey Finished ~ May 17, 2020.

Barbara Rae Grimes was born to Beatrice Clayton in Omaha, Nebraska.  Barbara was the oldest of her 3 siblings; Josephine, Rochelle and David.  She graduated from Omaha Tech High School and later achieved her certificates in nursing.  Barbara started in the nursing field at the age of 17yrs and did so until she retired in 2010 from the Florence Nursing Home.  After retirement she volunteered at the Minne Lusa Elementary School.  Barbara gave her life to the Lord at an early age of 9 yrs.  She served faithfully as a Missionary at Promise Land Church.  She did so until the Lord called her home from labor to reward.  She took pride as being a single mother very seriously until latter years when she married to her late husband Stewart Grimes.  Barbara was blessed with 6 children; Anthony, Robert, Vaughn, Deanna, Nickita and Troy.  One of her many hobbies was watching her favorite shows; the Cooking Channel, Wendy Williams, The Young and The Restless and Let’s Make A Deal.  She was a prayer warrior and a faithful missionary servant at Promise Land Church until the Lord called her home.

She is preceded in death by her husband Stewart Grimes, mother; Beatrice Clayton, sister; Josephine Clayton, sons; Robert and Vaughn, great-grandchildren; Myracle-Belle and Char’eion.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her children; Rev. Anthony and Rachelle Williams, Deanna Williams and Will Brown, Nickita, Troy and Renee Grimes, brothers; Rochelle Gordon and David James and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, family and friends.

Visitation: 10:00 AM until Service time at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 27, 2020 Roeder Mortuary, 4932 Ames Ave.
