Barbara Jones, 79 years of age, passed away 7/13/24 in Omaha, Ne. She was born to Nathaniel Madison Jr. and Jennie Mae McGhee in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She graduated high school and worked many years as a cook and childcare provider.
Barbara Jones had a passion for sewing, crocheting, cooking and watching her favorite shows such as Steve Harvey, Paternity Court and The Haves and Have Nots. She spent many years volunteering cooking at the church, helping so many families with their children and making a difference in the lives she touched.
Barbara Jones was known for being a great cook and a mess talker with a flare of spice who did things how she wanted.
Barbara Jones is survived by her brother, Paul Sullivan; her daughters, Nikie Hall (Gary Hall, Jr.) and LaDonna Taylor; step son, Ardell Child; grandchildren, Cameron and Giovoni Hall, Chloe Taylor, James, Christina, Adrian, Aaron, and Alonte Lester, Kamisha, Kayla, Kris and Adrian Childs. Close family and friends: Rebekah Lewis and her four daughters, Alice Long, Dolly M Smith and many other friends, family and loved ones.
Barbara Jones was proceeded in death by her parents, Nathaniel Madison Jr. and Jennie Mae McGhee; "The love of her life" Adrian W. Childs; daughter, Shawn Lester; siblings, Barry Bagby, James Madison, Ruth Henderson and Eddie Jewel Bray. Also Laura Renee Mcgee and Kenneth Jones.
Let us take a moment to reflect on the many ways Barbara Jones has touched our lives and the lessons we can learn from our time with her. May we find comfort in knowing that she will never truly be gone as long as we keep her memory alive in our hearts and minds.
To our dear Barbara Jones, we say farewell for now, but we will never forget the light you shined into our lives. May you rest in peace, and may we continue to honor your memory by living our lives to the fullest.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Roeder Mortuary - Ames Chapel.
