Omaha - Preceded in death by husband: Philip Johansen; brother: Tim Himberger; sister: Ramona Himberger; son: Scott Skoglund. Survived by daughter: Dawn (David) Hackworth; grandsons: Ryan, Jacob (Kelsey), Tim (Lauren); great-grandchildren: Jacob Jr., & Addison; cousins & friends.

Barbara was born in Omaha, Ne. to Virthal Ella Himberger and Mary Ella Himberger. She attended Pershing Elementary and graduated from Technical High School.

Early in her life, she worked for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and was later a waitress for many years at Cascio’s Steakhouse.

She was very close to her older brother Tim, an amazing mother to Scott and Dawn, a loving wife to Phil, a doting and proud grandmother (Nana) to Ryan, Jacob, and Timmy, and an endearing great-grandmother (Me-Mo) to Jacob Jr. and Addison.

Family meant the most to her and always came first! She loved all holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, and always made sure we had a family gathering to celebrate in a big way. She made our birthdays unforgettable with decorations, a beautiful cake, and of course two or three rounds of the “Happy Birthday” song sang loud and proud! She loved God and life, her family, friends, her pets (Max and Milo these last few years), gardening, and her favorite place to visit was the Black Hills in South Dakota. Barbara was one of the kindest, sweetest, most generous, selfless people you would ever want to know and she always made you feel special and loved. She overcame many health issues in the last five years and was one of the strongest people I knew. We will love and miss her every day for the rest of our lives.
