Barbara (Burkholder) Dasenbrock, 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on June 14, 1939, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Glenn and Louise Burkholder, and was raised near Woodbine, Iowa.
Barbara attended Wayne State College, where she earned her teaching degree and met the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Dasenbrock. They were united in marriage on December 27, 1959, and built a beautiful life together in Belden and Lincoln, Nebraska, before settling in Omaha.
A devoted member of Presbyterian Church of the Master for over five decades, Barbara lived her faith through active involvement in Bible studies, choir, handbells, and numerous church committees. Her church, community, and friendships were central to her life. Gifted with a beautiful voice, she shared her love of music generously and joyfully.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Richard “Dick” Dasenbrock; her grandchildren, Kendal Marie Dasenbrock and Taryn Jo Dasenbrock; her great-grandchild, Oliver Baehr; her sister, Beverly Fett; and other loved ones who welcomed her home.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Greg (Lori) Dasenbrock of Omaha; Alan (Julie) Dasenbrock of Lincoln; Jeff (Dena) Dasenbrock of Omaha; Amy Dasenbrock; and Beth (Trev) Anderson of La Vista; her sister, Belinda “Bindy” Frederick (Bob); her sister-in-law, Ann Podraza (Jim) and brother-in-law, Terry Fett; her 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on April 2 at Presbyterian Church of the Master, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service.
Barbara will be remembered for her deep faith, her love of family and friends, and the beautiful life she lived and shared with others.
Memorials may be made to Presbyterian Church of the Master in honor and remembrance of Barbara.
