Anthony Paul Turco

Tony was born in 1943 in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a loving and loyal son, brother and uncle. If he knew of anyone in need, friend, family or stranger Tony would be there to offer his time and help.

Tony was an archivist who made recordings of major news and sporting events, never missing a Husker game. He loved learning and was an avid reader and passionate about Greek philosophers, mythology, politics and science. He also enjoyed and recorded old movies, as well as the singers and music of the big band era and the comedians and impersonators of the golden age of television. He had a great sense of humor, retelling their jokes and skits and often writing his own.

Tony loved nature and all animals and critters, especially the many dogs that he rescued over the years. He once cared for a family of snakes nestled under a stone cap in the back yard. Whenever he noticed spiders in the yard, he protected them and monitored the progress of their webs.

Now Tony is at peace and at rest, reunited with his parents, sister and all the relatives that he loved and missed so much. May God bless and keep him until we are all together again.

Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rose (Radicia) Turco, sister Marie Moslemian, and brother-in-law Hugh Hunnicutt. He is survived by brother Lucian and Karen (Adams) Turco, Omaha; sister Catherine Hunnicutt, Hacienda Heights, CA; brothers John Turco and Charles Turco, Omaha; brother-in-law Javad Moslemian, Naperville, IL; nephews Joseph Moslemian, Jacksonville, FL; Leonardo Moslemian, Chicago, IL and David Turco, Omaha; great-niece Robin (Alec) Brueggemann; great great grandchildren Ben, Noah, and Tristan Brueggemann CO and Joseph Turco, Omaha
