Amy M. Lauwers

Amy Marie Lauwers, age 32 born in McHenry, Illinois, passed away on 30 November 2024, after fighting metastatic breast cancer since January 2023 

Amy is survived by her father: Michael Reizinger; husband: Dominic; son: Donovan; and daughter: Audrey. Amy is preceded in death by her mother: Judy Stockwell.

She went to school in Couch, Missouri, then attended the University of Missouri, West Plains after high school in 2010. There, she met the love of her life, Dominic, whom she married in December of 2011. She followed Dominic through his Air Force Career from Oahu, Hawaii to Ft Meade, Maryland. After being an Air Force spouse, Amy felt it was time for her to take the oath of enlistment and joined the United States Air Force in May of 2016. Joining the Air Force was a big step for her, but she flourished in her job as a Command and Control, Battle Management operator. Her attitude, work ethic, and tenacity earned her the respect of her superiors, and created a work ohana who love her to this day. Following Hawaii, she was stationed in Nebraska when she medically retired. Her main goal in joining the military was to make a difference in the world and people’s lives, which she did in Maryland, Hawaii, and here at Offutt AFB. There are many who would agree that she accomplished that goal in her eight years.

Her hobbies included reading, doing puzzles, archery, hiking, watching crime documentaries, camping, woodworking, and playing with her children and dogs.

Amy was a hard worker, a loving mother, and a caring friend. She always strived to do the right thing, even if that meant a negative outcome for herself. She was always quick to assist her coworkers that needed help and provide them with the opportunity to take care of their own family. 

Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Friday, December 6th, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Roeder Mortuary, 2727 N108th St Omaha, Nebraska.
