Born: January 17, 1937 TO Orville G. and Reva (Hayes) Marsh in Villisca, Iowa. Entered heaven’s gate on February 19, 2025. Proceeded in death by his parents; brother: Richard Marsh; parents-in-law; brothers-in-law; and a great-nephew.
Survived by his wife: Jane (Deck) Marsh of 31 years; brother: Larry D. (wife: Shelley) Marsh; sister-in-law: Katherine Marsh; daughter: Kimberly Staley (husband: Paul); son: Chris (wife: Lisa) Marsh; step-children: Kevin Libengood, Shealyn (husband: Michael) Becker, and Rebecca Polley.
Grandchildren: Jillian Jaskulski (husband: Dylan), Benjamin Staley (wife: Brittany), Collin Staley (fiancé: Maddy Mathews), Christopher Marsh (wife: Lisa), Brandon Marsh, and Wyatt Marsh (wife: Abby); step-grandchildren: Tyler Libengood, Jacob Becker, Madilyn Becker, Jackson Buser, and Avery Polley. Many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Attended grade and high school in Villisca, graduating in 1955. Attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri graduating in 1960 with a BS degree in Business.
Upon graduating from NWMSU, He moved to Omaha, NE where he worked as a Certified Public Accountant from 1960-1980. In 1980 he joined Sapp Bros., Inc. as the Chief Financial Officer, until 2012 when he became the Chief Executive Officer. Retired in 2020 and moved to Arizona to enjoy his retirement years.
He joined the Iowa National Guard in 1954 and attended the first year of the Iowa Military Academy and upon graduating from the academy was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant. He continued to serve in the Iowa National Guard and the United Stated Army Reserve, completing 25 years of service and retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1979.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge for over 58 years, and a member of the Scottish Rite, and Tangier Shrine in Omaha. He was a member of the American Legion for over 35 years. He was a Life member of the Southwest Sertoma Club of Omaha for over 40 years, serving in club officer positions and North Nebraska District Governor.
He was Baptized into the Christian faith at the Villisca Advent Church in 1952 and at the time of his death, was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod in Gretna, NE. He enjoyed serving in many capacities of the churches he attended.
He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife: Jane, and thanks her for giving him the best years of his life. He leaves with all of those who are his children, a special love that he has enjoyed, whether they are of his issue or married into, along with the grand/great grand children. He is thankful for the many family members and friend that he has had the privileged of having.
His one last desire is that all who read or hear this message will commit or rededicate their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom he placed his faith in eternal life so that we may all be together with the Heavenly Father.
There will be a Visitation Friday 4:00 - 7:00 Good Shepherd Lutheran Church; Funeral Service 10:00 AM Saturday (3/1/2025) at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 11204 S 204th St. Gretna, NE; Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Norfolk, Nebraska.
